Important: Preparation must be completed before the technician arrives. Incomplete preparation may reduce treatment effectiveness and impact your service guarantee.

  • Pull all furniture at least 60cm (2 feet) away from walls.
  • Remove items stored under the bed and place in sealed bags.
  • Empty nightstands and dressers. Place contents in sealed bags.
  • Remove all items from closet floors.

Living Areas

  • Move all upholstered furniture (sofas, chairs) away from walls.
  • Remove all items from under sofas and chairs.
  • Remove and bag all throw pillows and cushion covers for laundering.
  • Remove all items from bookshelves near sleeping areas.

On Treatment Day

  • You, all household members, and pets must vacate the premises during treatment.
  • Do not re-enter for at least 4 hours after treatment is complete.
  • Open windows for 20 to 30 minutes upon re-entry to ventilate.
  • Cover or remove fish aquariums and turn off their air pumps before treatment.
  • Do not vacuum or clean treated surfaces for at least 72 hours after treatment.

After Treatment

  • You may see live bed bugs for up to 2 weeks after treatment, this is normal.
  • Do not disturb devices or monitors left by the technician.
  • Do not fully reassemble rooms until after your follow-up visit.
  • A follow-up service will be scheduled approximately 2 to 3 weeks after initial treatment.
  • Continue laundering bedding on high heat weekly until the follow-up.
Persons with respiratory conditions, chemical sensitivities, or underlying health concerns should consult their physician about re-entry timing. Contact us if you have any specific concerns before your appointment.

Kitchen & Food Storage

  • Store all food in hard-sided airtight containers. Remove any open packages.
  • Empty kitchen cupboards in areas where activity has been noticed.
  • Pull appliances (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher) away from walls to allow access.
  • Empty and clean under the kitchen sink.
  • Remove all items from pantry floor areas.

Throughout the Home

  • Clear clutter from basement, utility rooms, and garage areas where bait stations will be placed.
  • Move items stored along walls so the technician can access the full perimeter.
  • Identify and note any holes, gaps, or entry points you have noticed.

Pets & Children

  • Secure pets in a separate area or arrange for them to be away during the visit.
  • Keep children away from bait station locations after treatment.
  • All bait stations are tamper-resistant but pets and children should not be permitted access to treatment areas.

Timing

  • You do not need to vacate your home for rodent treatment.
  • Effective rodent control typically takes 4 to 6 weeks for complete elimination.
  • Do not remove or tamper with bait stations or traps between visits.
  • Report any continued activity to us between visits.
Some rodenticide products may contain allergens including wheat, soy, and peanuts. Please alert your technician if any household members have severe food allergies before treatment begins.
Do not spray or apply any pesticides before treatment. Other products interfere with gel bait and will significantly reduce treatment effectiveness.

Kitchen

  • Empty all kitchen cupboards and drawers completely. Remove contents and place in sealed bags in another room.
  • Clean all cupboard interiors to remove grease, crumbs, and food debris.
  • Pull the refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher away from the wall.
  • Clean behind and under appliances thoroughly.
  • Empty and clean under the kitchen sink. Remove all stored items.
  • Store all food in sealed containers or in the refrigerator.

Bathrooms

  • Empty the cabinet under the bathroom sink.
  • Remove items stored near the toilet base and behind the toilet.
  • Repair any leaking pipes. Cockroaches are attracted to moisture.

On Treatment Day

  • You may remain in the home during gel bait treatment but should stay out of the rooms being treated until complete.
  • Do not clean treated surfaces for at least 72 hours. Do not wipe down cupboards.
  • Do not use bleach, chemical cleaners, or insecticide sprays near bait placement areas.

After Treatment

  • Increased cockroach activity immediately after treatment is normal as they seek the bait.
  • A follow-up visit will be scheduled 2 to 3 weeks after initial treatment.
  • Do not re-line cupboards until after the follow-up confirms elimination.
  • Maintain clean surfaces and seal food sources throughout the treatment period.
Do not spray any ant killers before your appointment. Residual sprays repel ants and interfere with bait treatments. Stop any DIY treatments at least 72 hours before your appointment.

Interior Preparation

  • Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and counters to remove food debris and grease that attract ants.
  • Store food in sealed containers. Remove any open packages from counters.
  • Note active ant trails and entry points you have observed and share with the technician.
  • Move furniture away from walls in rooms where activity has been noticed.
  • Empty under-sink cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms.

Exterior

  • Note any visible carpenter ant activity outside, such as sawdust piles near wood, large black ants on the foundation or near trees.
  • Move firewood, lumber, and debris piles away from the house before the technician arrives.
  • Trim any tree branches or shrubs that touch the structure.

Pets & Occupants

  • You do not need to vacate for ant treatment in most cases.
  • Keep pets off treated surfaces until dry (approximately 30 minutes).
  • Do not wipe down treated surfaces for at least 48 hours after treatment.
Do not disturb the nest before treatment. Agitated wasps or hornets will sting. Keep all household members and pets away from the nest area until the technician has completed treatment.

Before the Technician Arrives

  • Identify and mark the nest location so you can direct the technician upon arrival.
  • Keep children and pets indoors or well away from the nest area.
  • Do not seal or cover the nest entrance, the technician needs access.
  • Do not spray the nest yourself. This agitates wasps without eliminating the colony.
  • If the nest is in a wall void, note which interior wall it is closest to.

During and After Treatment

  • Stay indoors during the treatment. Wasps may become agitated briefly.
  • Avoid the treated area for at least 2 hours after treatment.
  • Some wasp activity may continue for 24 to 48 hours as foragers return to a treated nest, this is normal.
  • The nest can typically be physically removed 24 to 48 hours after treatment once activity has stopped.

Allergy Warning

  • If any household member is allergic to wasp or bee stings, inform your technician before treatment begins.
  • Ensure any relevant epinephrine auto-injectors (EpiPens) are accessible during the treatment window.
  • Allergic individuals should remain well away from the area during and immediately after treatment.
Treat your pets on the same day as your home treatment. Home treatment without simultaneous pet treatment will not solve the problem. Consult your veterinarian for a flea product for your pet.

Before Treatment

  • Vacuum all carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and pet bedding thoroughly the day before treatment. This stimulates flea eggs to hatch, making them vulnerable to treatment.
  • Dispose of the vacuum bag immediately after vacuuming, outside in a sealed bag.
  • Wash all pet bedding on high heat.
  • Remove all items from floors including toys, shoes, and clothing.
  • Clear under beds and sofas completely so the technician can treat these areas.

On Treatment Day

  • All people and pets must vacate the home during treatment.
  • Do not re-enter for at least 4 hours after treatment is complete.
  • Open windows for 20 minutes upon re-entry.
  • Cover or remove fish aquariums and turn off air pumps before treatment.

After Treatment

  • Do not vacuum for at least 48 hours after treatment. This allows the residual product to work.
  • Seeing live fleas for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment is normal as newly hatched adults encounter the treated surfaces.
  • Continue treating your pets with veterinarian-recommended flea prevention.
  • A follow-up may be recommended 2 to 3 weeks after initial treatment.

Yard Preparation

  • Mow the lawn before the treatment appointment. Shorter grass improves product penetration.
  • Remove or empty all standing water sources: bird baths, planters, buckets, tarps, and clogged gutters.
  • Move outdoor furniture away from shrubs and vegetation to allow access.
  • Note any areas with heavy mosquito activity to direct the technician.

People and Pets

  • All people and pets must remain indoors during the treatment and for 30 minutes afterward.
  • Once the product has dried (approximately 30 minutes), the treated area is safe for people and pets.
  • Remove bird feeders and water features from the treatment area or cover them during application.

After Treatment

  • Treatment effectiveness lasts approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Continue eliminating standing water throughout the season to reduce breeding sites.
  • Seasonal programs with recurring applications every 3 to 4 weeks provide the best results.

Interior Preparation

  • Move furniture and stored items away from baseboards and walls throughout the home.
  • Clear basement areas, storage rooms, and utility spaces so the technician can access perimeter walls.
  • Empty under-sink cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms.
  • Vacuum all areas along baseboards before the appointment to remove debris that can reduce product contact.

Pets & Occupants

  • Secure pets away from treatment areas during the visit.
  • Keep pets off treated surfaces until dry (approximately 30 to 60 minutes).
  • You may remain in untreated rooms of the home during treatment.
  • Ventilate treated areas by opening windows for 20 minutes after treatment.

After Treatment

  • Do not mop or wash treated surfaces for at least 72 hours.
  • Some continued insect activity for up to 2 weeks after treatment is normal.
  • Address any moisture issues identified by your technician to prevent re-infestation.
